Dr. John Gerstner says repentance precedes faith. But in studying the Westminster Confession it is amazing how many confessional theologians differ on this issue. For me, as a child – I remember faith preceding repentance (but that is from my small 10 year old perspective). For others, they cannot imagine having faith (a grace of God) without God-given repentance preceding.
I’ve come to believe that faith and repentance go hand-in-hand after regeneration. It will be interesting to see if one truly precedes the other. Just an aside – Chris
